The West Akyem Municipal Chief Executive Hon Seth Oduro Boadu has call on financial Institutions and None Governmental Organisations NGO’s to give financial support to farmers so that they can procure heavy farming equipments like tractors, combine harvesters etc to improve their farming activities. 
He again said the youth have the strength to work very effectively if these institutions support them financially though the government have subsidize agricultural inputs for farmers to get more farm produce but it seems like those who are into farming are the aged and those on retirement he said.
He also urged Chiefs in various farming communities to give out litigant free lands individuals especially the youth to engage themselves in the planting for food and jobs programme, all these came out when he was delivering a speech at the 34th national farmers day celebration at Awaham on the Theme “AGRICULTURE: MOVING GHANA BEYOND AID” At the celebration 22 farmers were awarded simultaneously with assorted gifts but Isaac Kumi was crowned as best farmer in the West Municipality with one motor bike,Napsak Spraying machine,Burners with cylinder, cutlasses Willington boots etc.
The West Akyem Municipal best farmer Isaac Kumi 37 years old from Kwame Tia also suggested that if the government wants the youth to involve themselves in farming they should give the farmers some retirement package to entice the youth into farming in the country to make the planting for food and jobs programme a successful one.
